Corinna Hawkes
Dr Corinna Hawkes is Head of Policy and Public Affairs at World Cancer Research Fund International, where her work involves advocating the development and implementation of policies for the prevention of cancer and other noncommunicable diseases globally, with a focus on food and nutrition policy.
A specialist in food policy, diet and public health, she has worked at the World Health Organization (Geneva), the International Food Policy Research Institute (Washington, DC) and the School of Public Health, University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, as well as an independent consultant to international organisations, governments, academia and non-governmental organisations.
Dr Hawkes has a particular interest in food systems approaches to tackling obesity and non-communicable diseases. She on the Scientific Advisory Council of the International Obesity Taskforce, an Honorary Fellow at the Centre for Food Policy, City University, London, and a Senior Advisor at the Leverhulme Centre for Integrative Research into Agriculture and Health, University of London. Her articles have appeared in a wide range of peer-reviewed publications.
