Lital Keinan-Boker
Dr Keinan-Boker has served as Deputy Director in the Israel Center for Disease Control since 2003. Within this capacity she takes part in most of the activities directed in the ICDC and especially in the periodical National Nutrition and Health surveys carried out by the Center and in the academic activity done in the Center. In addition, she is in charge of the National Cancer Registry in the Ministry of Health.
Since 2005 Dr. Keinan-Boker is faculty in the School of Public Health of the University of Haifa. She is currently an assistant professor and the Director of the Master Committee in the School. Previously (2008-2011), she also acted as the Head of the Epidemiology track in the School.
Dr. Keinan-Boker is a member of the Israeli Public Health Physicians Committee, and served as the Head of the Board Examinations for Public Health Officers.
Between 1999-2002 Dr. Keinan-Boker was a PhD student in the Julius Center for Epidemiology and Public Health of the Utrecht University, Utrecht, the Netherlands, and her PhD thesis focused on phytoestrogens and breast cancer in the framework of the European EPIC cohort. In 2003 she had a position of a post-doc in the same institute.
Between 1993-1997, Dr. Keinan-Boker completed her residency in Public Health in the Sheba Medical Center in Israel. During this time she also obtained an MPH degree (cum laude) from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel.
Between 1988-1990, Dr. Keinan-Boker practiced medicine as a general practitioner in the Police Headquarters in Jerusalem, Israel.
Dr. Keinan-Boker received both her MD degree (1984-1987) and her BSc (Basic medical Sciences) degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (1981-1987). In 1988 she had her rotating internship in the Hadassa Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel.
