Surbhi Grover
Dr. Surbhi Grover is an assistant professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Pennsylvania. She is interested in addressing the growing global cancer burden by focusing on public health endeavors and cost-effective clinical initiatives to improve access to care and outcomes of care in developing countries. Her research interests include racial and ethnic disparities in cancer care and outcomes, treatment tolerability and outcomes of HIV-related malignancies, implementation and up-scaling of prevention and treatment programs in low resource settings. Before her residency she worked with Prof. Jeffrey Sachs at the Earth Institute and the Gates Foundation on advising the Ministry of Health of India on the National Rural Health Mission, a rural health initiative to strengthen basic and preventive healthcare in rural India. Since 2011 she has been working with the Botswana-UPENN partnership in developing an oncology program in Botswana. In her current role, she will be spending 50% of her time in Botswana doing clinical work, teaching and research focusing on cervical cancer and HIV.
