Tracy L. Truant

Tracy has been an oncology nurse for 25 years, holding a variety of clinical, education, research and leadership roles at local, provincial, and national levels. Currently, Tracy is the Vice President of the Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology/Association canadienne des infirmieres en oncologie (CANO/ACIO) and a full time doctoral candidate at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. Tracy’s research focuses on complementary medicine decision making in the context of cancer treatment and care, and the exploration of intersecting factors that promote health inequities within cancer survivorship models of care. She has championed national initiatives such as development and uptake of CANO/ACIO’s Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Standards and Competencies for Oncology Nurses in Canada, chaired CANO/ACIO’s national conference, and is currently working with the International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care (ISNCC) on a project in Latin America to improve oral chemotherapy education for oncology nurses.
