Maree Bransdon Grad Dip Midwifery, Master of Nursing (Women’s Health), Grad Cert Oncology, Bachelor Health Science (Nursing), Diploma Health Science (Nursing), Certificate in Nursing (Enrolled Nurse) Maree commenced nursing in 1988 as a trainee Enrolled Nurse at Neringah Palliative Care and Rehabilitation Hospital in Sydney. Maree’s interest in caring for people with cancer has seen her undertake positions within surgery, women’s health and oncology treatment units. Through out her career Maree has had opportunities to develop new roles and initiatives to improve access and care for people with cancer and their families. Maree’s current role as Nursing Director – Central Integrated Regional Cancer Service (CIRCS) provides nursing leadership with an emphasis on; • strategic direction, • coordination for improved access to cancer care services • development and implementation of evidence based procedures and guidelines, • establishment of common nursing management clinical pathways for, people with cancer and their families across the continuum of care in Central West, Central Queensland, Wide Bay, Sunshine Coast and Metro North Hospital and Health Service Queensland.
