Melissa Shand

Melissa Shand has worked at NEMICS for over five years and currently manages the portfolios of Supportive Care, Consumer Participation and Survivorship. She previously worked as an Occupational Therapist on the Palliative Care and Radiation Oncology Units at Austin Health and has a special interest in the need for timely and appropriate supportive care for cancer patients. Melissa presented a paper at the 2011 COSA conference on the NEMICS model for implementing routine supportive care screening and is working with Monash University on a research project entitled; “Translating evidence, guidelines and policy into routine clinical care: recommendations for implementing supportive care screening”.
