Martine RAPHAEL, full Professor of Hematology (1997–2012), Emeritus Professor of hematology, University Paris Sud since 2012, President of Alliance Mondiale Contre le Cancer (AMCC) since 2013 has been working as the Head of the Hematology department of the Faculty of Medicine and University hospital Paris-Sud since 2003. She has served as coordinator of the Pole of clinical and surgical pathology at Bicêtre University hospital. She has an extensive career as an academic specialized in hematopathology particularly in immunodeficiency related lymphomas. Early in her career she was involved in the support of diagnosis in cancer in low and medium income countries as she has been working in the field for lymphoid malignancies especially in Indonesia and in Africa. She has served for numerous years in national and international lymphomas groups belonging to the panel of pathologists reviewing slides for international therapeutical trials. She continues these activities as hematopathologist in the diagnosis support and review of cases using telepathology (i-Path via INCTR). Her educational and research activities lead to the award of Chevalier of the French Légion d’Honneur in 2006 and Officer in 2014 and the publications of more than 200 international peer reviewed articles and numerous didactic reviews and chapters in books.
